EMPLOYERS

FEAT work closely with employers across Fife to raise awareness of mental health in the workplace.  We offer organisations free information and exhibition displays, as well as a wide range of training courses on all aspects of mental health which can be tailored to suit the needs of any particular organisation.

A company that promotes well-being can support and manage an employee through any mental health problem, such as stress, anxiety and depression.

Our Journey to Work programme is designed to help maintain confident and motivated employees and significantly reduce staff absence.

Wide-ranging research shows that stress related illness accounts for 40% of all staff absences each year, an average of 29 days absence per person and around 91 million working days each year across the UK.

One third of employees will have a mental health problem in any one year, and the total costs estimated to the UK economy each year of job-generated stress is over £5 billion.

Therefore, the business case to provide practical support to enable employers to deal with mental health issues, and get valuable, talented and experienced people back to work after mental illness, is clearly apparent.  For every £1 spent on raising awareness of mental health issues in the workplace, employers can save £14 on sick pay! Through our range of services, employers in Fife can benefit from:

Mental Health Information Hub & Wellbeing at Work Roadshow
An in-house information display providing a wealth of free information and advice to employers and employees alike.  Stress audits and analysis also available.

Mental Health Awareness Training Courses
A wide range of courses on mental health at work, which can be tailored to the needs of each organisation. Sessions available from 1 hour to 2 days in duration, aimed at both managers and supervisors of staff with skills and knowledge to develop healthy workplaces.

Courses are also aimed at ensuring staff have the skills and confidence to make their service accessible to people experiencing mental ill health.

We also offer STEPS and STARS personal development courses aimed at any employee, and particularly appropriate for those wishing to develop on a personal level.

Work Placements
We also always strive to secure short term, part-time work experience placements for our client group with employers across Fife.  Work placements present an excellent opportunity for employers to look at potential recruits, at no expense, over a period of weeks and can create opportunities for junior members of staff to gain skills and experience in supervision.  Placements are also hugely beneficial for our clients, provding the platform to refresh their skills, regain their confidence and get back into a working routine.

There is no obligation on employers to offer paid work to our clients and we continue to support them with their jobsearch and applications during a placement.
